Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks in the world, and for good reason. It offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range, including Annapurna I, the tenth highest mountain in the world. The trek is also relatively easy to do, making it accessible to people of all fitness levels.
The trek begins in the town of Pokhara, which is located in the western part of Nepal. From Pokhara, you will take a bus or a taxi to the village of Nayapul, which is the starting point of the trek. The first few days of the trek are relatively easy, as you ascend through the foothills of the Annapurna mountains. As you get higher, the scenery becomes more dramatic, and you will start to see some of the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna range.
On the fourth day of the trek, you will reach the village of Ghorepani, which is the gateway to Poon Hill. Poon Hill is a popular viewpoint for sunrise, and from here you will be treated to stunning views of the Annapurna range, including Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri I, and Machhapuchre (Fishtail).
After spending a night in Ghorepani, you will continue your trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The last few days of the trek are the most challenging, as you ascend to an altitude of over 4,000 meters. However, the views from Annapurna Base Camp are well worth the effort. From here, you will be able to see Annapurna I up close, as well as the other peaks of the Annapurna range.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an unforgettable experience that will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. If you are looking for a challenging but rewarding trek, then the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the perfect choice for you.
