If you have the power, you could visit some of the most famous places including:
Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple): A very beautiful Monkey Temple which is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and offers a stunning view of the whole of Kathmandu Valley.
Pashupatinath Temple: Hindu religion is considered one of the holiest places, among many others, Pashupatinath Temple is a religious place, which is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River.
Boudhanath Stupa: The stupa is the largest and holiest of its kind in Nepal and is a major Buddhist pilgrimage site.
You have the evening for yourself to have some recreation, gather strength for the hike, and at the same time try some typical Nepali dishes. In order to introduce you to the itinerary, your guide will brief you, issue final instructions, and answer any questions that you may have. You will spend the night in Kathmandu at your hotel-room, getting all excited for the fabulous times ahead
Start from Kathmandu: The day begins early in the morning. You will travel up the Prithvi Highway, a top-class road that joins Kathmandu to Pokhara. The place you will be on gets greener just a stone’s throw from the city while spreading over beautiful hillsides and fields. The road along the Trishuli River, in turn, is the longest and most winding road in the entire valley; the views it offers of the valley, villages, and of the Himalayan range in the skyline in the distance are amazing.
Along the Trishuli river: While driving you will also be enjoying the view along the Trishuli river which is a great place to enjoy the sight of the rafts floating in the river and the fishermen busy on both sides of the river road. The road also passes through hamlets and through lush farmland so that you can observe and get to know what the folks do on a daily basis.
Hilly and Terraced Areas: A lot of the highway travel is through gentle rolling hills and the terrozoned fields, which are actually the nature that humans and trees cover up the road. Forests full of greenery and pine trees wrapped the road. The more idyllic atmosphere the lush Manaslu Range and other snow-shrewd peaks provide is such a feast for the eyes on the way.
Stop Points: You will be having breaks at a little place by the side of the road known as the teahouses there or at the rest points where there is tea and some snacks to have. You can take that time to move a little from time to time and enjoy the view. The drive may be very unpleasant in some parts of the way if there are a lot of turns and bends in the road, but the wandered picturesque countryside will undoubtedly indemnify you. The Annapurna Range, as you proceed towards Pokhara, gets dominance over the Phewa Lake which is a satisfying sight. The last part of the journey belongs to the mountains and to the valleys along the lake.
After you land in Pokhara at 830 meters of altitude, you will go to the hotel near Phewa Lake and take time to sit and reflect on the beautiful nature. After a little rest, you can go for a walk along the lake, hire a boat and go for a paddle in Phewa Lake, or visit the lively lakeside area with cafes, shops, and restaurants serving a variety of local and international dishes.
The night can be spent looking at the mountains reflecting on the lake or sampling the local food, creating an ideal combination that makes the beginning of your time in Pokhara wonderful. Spend the night in the city, get ready for the next part of the challenging trekking expedition to Annapurna.
The 1.5 to 2 hours drive from Pokhara to Nayapul is really nice as it runs along a delightful route through small rural villages, terraced fields, and green river valleys. The road gets its way along the Modi Khola River, and at one point, you will be able to see the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peaks in the background as you get closer to the trekking spot. When you are close to Nayapul, the quality of the roads can be good or bad, so don't be surprised to feel that the beginning of your trek is the best. Once you are in Nayapul, you get a chance to pack up and connect with your (possible) porter.
At the start, from Nayapul, the infinite path through the Birethanti village lets the pleasant check finish at the TIMS office. The TAN successfully continues along the Modi Khola River, intertwining small villages, farmland, and thick rhododendron forests.
As you hike along the scenic fields: Taking a stroll through the undeveloped villages, Siyabru and Tikhedhunga, would be a good starting point as the topography gradually begins to change as you move upward. The path has a bunch of small suspension bridges over the river, which makes our journey beautiful and memorable." The path is decorated with numerous small wooden bridges over the river, which makes the trip very picturesque and unforgettable.
The subsequent stage of the trek involves a tough climb up to Ulleri. The route goes from hard, brutal walking to a flatter version of a thin footpath, made of stones, as you climb up to over 3,000 stone steps, from where you can get a great view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. After you climb this challenging trail, you can relax once you hit Ulleri, a scenic village at 1,960m. This place truly is a sight to behold with all the Annapurna peaks surrounding it.
The track starts with a constant uphill traverse using a crushed stone path that is built very well and has a stunning view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
On the way up, you will drop in Banthanti, a small settlement, which enjoys fame both for its tea rooms and spectacular Himalayan vistas. This is a good place to take a short break and enjoy the fresh air of the mountains. From Banthanti, you will be directed through the greenery of rhododendron forests around you. If you do the trek in the springtime (March-April), then you will definitely be awed by the sight of the forest seemingly transformed into an enchanted garden with its splendid red and pink rhododendrons in full bloom. Also, you may come across some local creatures like langurs (monkeys), Himalayan pheasants (the national bird of Nepal), and deer as you trek through the woods in peace.
As you go over the easy descending marked path, you will cross Nangethanti, one of the small stops where you may have a short break and have some tea or snacks before the last rush to Ghorepani. The final walking part is climbing up to the slope to reach Ghorepani, the stunning Gurung village situated in the crossroads between Poon Hill and the Annapurna Base Camp.
Planned overnight stay at the trading post, today the bulging village is full of trekkers. The village is famous for its jaw-dropping mountain views, featuring worldwide famous pinnacles like Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna South (7,219m), and Machhapuchhre (6,993m).Things to do is to enjoy the food in the hotel and explore the city the day you get in, getting some of the cool, but tasty, Communist Summit mountain air in you.
Ghorepani's Poon Hill (3,210m) is a neighbor to the rest of the Ghorepani trek so that most trekkers get to bed early to be ready for an early morning sunrise hike.Hang on to the warm meal during the hiking in the fireplace, chat with other hikers, and one of the most magical moments of the walking tour can be had at the sunrise at Poon Hill.Seems like tonight in Ghorepani will be the precursor of the fabulous sunrise happening tomorrow, the spirit of the hike is sure to be high.
In order to get to the top of Poon Hill you have to wake up at 4:30 AM before sunrise and climb uphill which takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, starting with a steep ascent, to get to one of the most important viewing points in the Annapurna area. The path is a bit steep, but the excitement of having made it to the top and the expectation that the sunrise will be gorgeous make all the effort worthwhile.
Immediately upon getting exposed to the top, you will be offered the kind of view that includes the Himalayas as seen from all sides. The specific mountains are: Dhaulagiri (8,167m),Annapurna I (8,091m),Annapurna South (7,219m) Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) (6,993m),Hiunchuli (6,441m)
And some more of the neighboring peaks. Dhaulagiri (8,167m),Annapurna I (8,091m),Annapurna South (7,219m),Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) (6,993m),Hiunchuli (6,441m)And several other surrounding peaks.
After the appearance of the sun, the hills become a combination of golden and pink, and orange colors transforming the ensemble into a rather memorable scenario. Having let the views sink in and take lots of cool pictures, you’ll start going back down to Ghorepani for breakfast before heading off to Tadapani for more of the wonderful trek.
Following breakfast, this will be followed through the forest trail which is very scenic to Tadapani. It will be a short trail, and a little bit of it will take you uphill, but the majority of it will be full of unique sights due to the pretty rhododendron forests, beautiful waterfalls, and small village scenery passing through.
The first part of the trek will be a steep hill to Deurali Pass (3,090m), and then you will be treated to a picture-perfect view of the mountains, and after that, your walk will be the downhill path that leads you along the rhododendron filled forest. When you start to head down, you will pass Banthanti, a tiny settlement where you can sit and have a rest over a cup of tea, while you will breathe easily the quietness. When the last steps are done, one rests and looks around the place. It is a steep trail through the forest covered with moss and the singing of birds where Tadapani (2,630m) is located.
Tadapani is a beautiful, small village on the hill ridges with very close to the amazing views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. The forest near the village is thick, hence it provides its inhabitants ideal space for a spiritual and peaceful mountain hideaway. You will enter the house, eat and then check-in at your haunt where you can relax and witness the majestic view of Himalayan peaks while the sunset is still happening among the most incredible parts of your entire stay. Tonight, you will be in Tadapani where the preparations for the hike will be made for the next day. It is going to be another day of fun and scenic beauty.
A few hours later, you will be in Chhomrong, which is a lovely Gurung village tucked inside the fold of Annapurna range. The Chhomrong is mainly the stopover point for trekkers moving to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). The place is splendid with almost a 360-degree view and it has good lodges, so the night stop is enjoyable and comfortable.
Passing through the Gurung village of Gurjung Walking through dense rhododendron and oak forests.Stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre.Arrival at Chhomrong, a scenic village with teahouses and a fantastic mountain backdrop The trek is moderately challenging, with a mix of ascents and descents, but the views and cultural experience make it an unforgettable day on the Annapurna trail.
Crossing Chhomrong Khola and Hiking Up to Sinuwa The day’s trekking starts with a steep descent along the stone steps down to the Chhomrong Khola (river). Upon crossing a suspension bridge, you will be able to embark on a long trip uphill to Sinuwa (2,360m) which is a small settlement providing magnificent mountain/beautiful mountain views.
Damp Bamboo and Rhododendron Forests The trail keeps going to Sinuwa, the way through bamboo, oak, and rhododendrons forests makes for peaceful and fresh air. A bit more of this section is simple but it can be kob and muddy.
Bamboo and Dovan (2,500m - 2,600m)Lovers of nature that pass through the lush forest will surely come across Bamboo, a place where trekkers stop at the teahouse, and then to Dovan, the next resting point along the way. It all opens fantastic vistas of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) soaring high above the valley during good weather conditions. Moving Upwards to Himalaya and Deurali
The forest thins out enchantingly after Dovan while you are headed to Himalaya (2,920m) where the terrain is gentle and the alpine region is relatively unexposed to the precipitation factor. The feature of the ascent will be the waterfalls and glacial streams that feed the beautiful surroundings. The trail ends at Deurali (3,230m), a quite regular climb on rocky terrain that contributes to the scenic spectacles, with waterfalls, and glacial streams adding to the beautiful scenery. Approaching Deurali, the valley would expand giving you magnificent views of the Annapurna range.
At a higher altitude, the temperature is a lot cooler, and that's why putting on more layers is very important. Deurali is a small village that has a few basic teahouses, but it is also one of the best viewpoints from which you can see Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. This site is the concluding station when you get into Annapurna Sanctuary making your way up to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) and the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
After a long but rewarding day, the rest in Deurali restores the strength you need for the upcoming journey to Annapurna Base Camp.
On arrival at Mount Annapurna Base Camp, you may get the opportunity to tour the area, take photos, and experience the bliss of being next to the highest mountains in the world. At the end and beginning of the day, the views are really sweet and that is why this is an experience that truly is very hard to forget on the way.
Descending Back Through MBC, Deurali & Bamboo The descent kicks off by going back the original way on which we came and making our way through Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). Deurali and Dovan are the two places that we have to go through. My journey downhill allows me to walk faster, but I have to be cautious of my knees especially in the steep areas. The transformation of the altitude is quite clear as the wintry setting around the ABC turns into the green bamboo and rhododendron forests around Bamboo and Sinuwa.
Return to Chhomrong (2,170m), After several hours of descent, you’ll reach Chhomrong, a familiar Gurung village with stunning views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South .Final Descent to Jhinu Danda (1,780m) – Hot Springs Await. Saying goodbye to Chhomrong, the downhill path leads down to Jhinu Danda, a quiet town sandwiched into the mountains. Along the banks of the Modi Khola River, the focal attraction here is the natural hot springs located a short 15-minute walk from the village. When you are all tired out from the trip, sitting in the comfortable warm water, which contains minerals will not only help you ease pain in your muscles but also bring you peace.
Comfortable tea houses with delicious food choices.Baths with hot water to unwind after the long trekking days.Colorful nature and a very quiet environment in contrast to the harsh and barren high-altitude terrains of ABC.
🔹 Trek Distance: ~15 km 🔹 Elevation Loss: ~2,350m 🔹 Difficulty: Moderate (largely a long descent, which might not be agreeable to all the participants mainly on their knees )
🔹 Accommodation: Where they prepare tea for the tourists in the case when they want to immerse themselves in hot water springs. At the end of a long but enjoyable day, resting in Jhinu Danda taking the hot springs treatment and then the celebration of the sober Annapurna Base Camp trek may turn into an unforgettable experience.
Morning at Jhinu Danda - Start your day to the melodies of nature and if yesterday you didn't have one the last one can be treated as a public spa visit in the natural hot pools before trekking back.A Pleasant Hike Along the Modi Khola River Contrary to the steep climbs and descents of yesterday, today’s hike is a slow descent trail beside the Modi Khola River. The path is generally easy as you pass through deep forests, farmlands, and Rottenstone is a cheerfully golden little settlement during this trip. Scenic Villages and Rice Terraces Along the path, you may also come across magnificent waterfalls, rice terraces, and local villages as you further descend the hilly area. Site of warm, sunny, wet, and green subtropical weather and ABC high-altitude air temperature of bundles. Arrive at Nayapul (1,070m) – The Trek Is Over. You will be arriving at Nayapul after 5-6 hours of trekking which is where your trek is ending. Here, you will get your vehicle to return to Pokhara by car.
On arrival by foot at Pokhara, a private vehicle or shared jeep will transport you to this charming village along direct routes or through other villages and towns, mountains, rivers, etc. Enjoy the marvelous landscape while recalling the unique adventure you just participated in.
You managed to finish the Annapurna Base Camp Trek - an action that was marked by a combination of amazing landscapes, cultural exchanges, and personal victories. Now is the time to relax in Pokhara first before you set off on your next journey.
Scenic Drive Through Hills and Valleys. The trip, which starts off after breakfast from Pokhara, takes the Prithvi Highway and follows the Seti and Trishuli Rivers. The descent to the lowlands is very dramatic, and the main track offers you wonderful terraced farms with green hills besides the road and several tiny hamlets.
Transition from Hills to the Terai Plains ,On the face of Chitwan, the color of the ground becomes non-fertile and the basic core is converted into the fertile land known as a Terai. Although the mountains are cold and the climate is warm and tropical, it’s so nice to have such a swift change in the weather. Arrival at Chitwan – Gateway to the Jungle. Once you reach Chitwan, a transfer will be arranged to take you to your hotel or jungle resort. After a short pause, you may take a leisurely stroll around the village, meet the Tharu people, or experience the famous Rapti River sunset.
