Everest via Gokyo Trek – 16 Days

Kathmandu arrivals were met with an immediate transfer to the hotel. Welcome drinks will be served on your arrival. Our team will give you a brief introduction and talk about the journey. We will stay the night at the hotel. And we will be ready for our next day.

Early in the morning, we are going to be taking a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840) 30-40 minute flight with stunning views of the mountains. After we will land in Lukla we will take a short break and start our first trek to Phakding.
Lukla airport is found in a unique area of the trekking world and journeys are usually quite boring and mundane due to the airport’s location, which is by the highway. This has led the terminal to be known as the most inaccessible airport and thus characterized by such high challenges and thrill. It is the largest gateway for trekkers and climbers from all over the world, leading to one of the most favorable and interesting trekking destinations, that is the Everest region.
Phakding is a small village in the Khumbu region of Nepal, located at an altitude of about 2,610 meters (8,563 feet). It functions also as a frequently visited starting point, and it is thus chosen by many trekkers first when they are heading towards the Everest Base Camp. Phakding is based by the Dudh Koshi River on the opposite side of the river from the teahouses. It is a small village with stunning views of the Himalayas where you can see some of the most popular mountains located in-between Thulo Syabru and Lamba Sumba.
For those trekking in the region, Phakding is often a common first stop after arriving at Lukla (via flight from Kathmandu) as part of the Everest Base Camp Trek. The village offers basic accommodations, such as teahouses, where trekkers can rest, enjoy local food, and acclimatize to the increasing altitude. Our night at the homestay in Pakhding will be the time when we will have dinner and have a chance for personal interaction with the locals.

The journey from Phakding to Namche is one of the most picturesque and exhilarating parts of the Everest area. This stage of your trip will take you into the depths of the Khumbu region. You will be following the Dudh Koshi River and going up through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages. The track is tough but the culmination is worth it. With a variety of mountain landscapes and the chance to get used to the altitude, there is a tremendous view of the Horizon.In this part of the trek, you come across several suspension bridges, which will also include the most famous, the Hillary Suspension Bridge, close to the village of Monjo. The view from these bridges is breath-taking, you can see the river and the valley below.
Namche Bazaar, perched at an altitude of some 3,440 meters (11,286 feet), is a lively place to be and is a principal base for adventure seekers. It is called the "gateway to Everest" making it a main station for those who want to catch a flight to the Everest Base Camp. Namche is a very good place for an overnight stay because of the variety of accommodation facilities that are available in the form of lodges, shops, restaurants, and internet cafes. Also, it is also a great place to adjust with the environment, hike to other viewpoints such as Hotel Everest View and Syangboche for better views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayas.

An Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar is an important part, Since Namche lies at an altitude of around 3,440 meters (11,286 feet), spending an extra day here helps your body adjust to the lower oxygen levels and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. The objective of this day off is to rest and allow your body to undergo acclimatization while you still go for short hikes to visit different spots around the trek.it is really important to acclimatize because,As you trek higher into the Himalayas, the air becomes thinner, meaning there's less oxygen. The key method of not getting altitude sickness is by inhaling more oxygen so that respiratory processes work better despite the drop in oxygen content. Climb high and sleep low is the golden rule for acclimatization. This means that you need to trek higher during the day, but sleep at a lower altitude at night, which enables your body to acclimatize. Being in Namche for a day can be positive psychologically as well. Besides being a busy town where you can do many activities, it is also a great space for you to rest and break before the next phase of the trip. with acclimatization,We can take a trip to the top of Everest View Hotel to see a whole view of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku.Besides, we can also take a day off and visit Namche Bazaar, the place where you can find cafes, shops, and a Sherpa culture museum.

The hike between Namche Bazaar and Dole is one of the most popular hiking routes in the Everest region of Nepal. It is one of the trails leading to Gokyo Lakes and it has a lot of incredible views of the Himalayan mountain range, such as Ama Dablam, Everest, and several other great ones.
Dole is a small, beautiful village located in the Everest region of Nepal at an altitude of about 4,110 meters (13,484 feet). It is a place where trekkers can have a stopover during their trek to Gokyo Lakes and it is popular for its tranquility and gorgeous natural views.Olor was Located just above the Dudh Koshi River valley. Dole has some tea houses and lodges and each offers you some basic services such as food, drinks, and a warm place to sleep. From Dole, you have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of these snow-capped peaks and terraced hillsides surrounded by the rhododendrons and junipers.

The trek from Dole to Machhermo is an important part of the Gokyo Valley trek in the Everest region of Nepal and provides a special connection with nature. Machhermo (4,470 m / 14,665 ft) is an important yet small settlement found near the Gokyo Valley trek in the Everest area of Nepal.Machhermo is very beautiful with many peaks around including Cho Oyu (8,188 m), the sixth highest mountain of the world.The environment has waterfalls and the icy melt off from glaciers along with the hard rocky ground. For trekkers starting to head to the greater altitudes, especially the Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri, Machhermo stands for an acclimatization stopover.Staying into Machhermo helps trekkers to get used to the high altitude before either climbing up to Gokyo.The Sherpa people are living in the village, they are famous for their hospitality and bravery.Travelers' main concern will be with trekkers, but they also can get insights into here, Sherpa customs, and lifestyle, etc.

The Machhermo–Gokyo trek is a significant part of the Gokyo Valley trek which leads you much nearer to the famous Gokyo lakes and allows you to see the majestic Himalayan peaks from above. Gokyo is a luxury village situated on the edge of the Gokyo Lakes, an amazing series of alpine rocks, the colors of turquoise lakes in them reflecting the deep blue sky and giving them an almost surreal appearance. The place is characterized by the dramatic view over the Ngozumpa Glacier and the surrounding peaks.

Gokyo trek, being one of the most thrilling activities in the Everest region of Nepal, is one-of-a-kind because it gives you a chance to have a perfect bird's eye view of the Ron and mountains like the Sagarmatha and the Kongde. It is a very innocent and untouched land with no pollution or any external elements that could spoil the clean and clear air. The highest we still can not see the end of the waiting, let me embrace that beautiful feeling of being flexible and let everything flow as it must-letting go without forcing it to be a particular way. What we know is that the first thing that the future generation can do in conservation is recycling, but this is not effective in lessening extinction.
Early in the morning, we will take the steep trail to hike up to Gokyo Ri (5483m), which is a beautiful mountain. We will delight in a 360-degree panoramic view of the mountains that surround us.Gokyo Ri, often also called Gokyo Peak, is the one that is most talked about and is in the Everest district. The spectacular and extensive view of the Himalayas and the trekking for a whole day.
We will make our journey there for about 2 hours and then return back to Gokyo.

Trip to Gokyo is one of the most exciting pastimes one can undertake in the Everest region of Nepal. It is really an amazing experience as one can see the whole Gokyo Valley from this view. From here we can encounter the most amazing view of mountains such as the Sagarmatha and Kongde. It is not only the one-of-a-kind opportunity that the first sentences provide, which is to take a bird’s view of the more topographical developments of the earth and to take a real look at those that man with his current brain capacity cannot mount but Gokyo also offers the spiritual uplift that is hardly expected to be comparable to elsewhere. In the morning, we will climb the path but this time, it will be steeper as we ascend the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m) which is still breathtaking. We will first experience the whole foot-loose experience during which we will take the hard route but we will sufficiently cover it by the end time. Gokyo Ri, also known as Gokyo Peak, is the most popular one and lies within the Everest district. Similarly, we shall spend the day trekking through the vast land of this heavenly spectacle of the Himalayas which is awesome but also represents a great workout of challenging trekking.
We will take about 2 hours there and then will return to Gokyo.

Dzongla is a small, picturesque village in the Everest region of Nepal, often used as an overnight rest point by trekkers journeying between Cho La Pass (5,420m) and the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek route. With an altitude of 4,830 meters (15,850 feet) Dzongla is set amidst the grand Annapurna range and offers snow covered tops and fantastic cliffs.
Dzongla located at the altitude of 15,850 ft is an epitome of natural beauty with the great white peaks as a backdrop that turn on the entire experience. Other strongly erected peaks viz. Cholatse (17,949 ft), Taboche (21,308 ft), and the mammoth Ama Dablam (22,349 ft) are lodged in the neighborhood. Dzongla is a perfect place for trekkers. Right at this point, you can continue trekking eastward to Lobuche or go on the westward side to Gokyo. Dzongla only lacks a few teahouses where one can find ordinary lodging. Rooms are simple but comfortable enough; besides, they have shared facilities and an exclusive source of heat.Cozy dining areas with wood-fired stoves are just what trekkers need to rest and warm up.

With an elevation of 5,420 meters (17,782 feet), Cho La Pass is one of the three major passes in the Everest region of Nepal. The excitement and thrill of coming to terms with this tough path is something of exhilaration but is connected from the Gokyo Valley with the classic Everest Base Camp (EBC) trekking route. The excursion starts atop the Cho La pass, a high-altitude mountain passage with the only mountain covering, such as Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and not forget to mention Taboche.The downhill journey is tough, it is mostly covered with unstable rocks and snow. The travelers should be more careful especially in the winter or bad weather conditions.
Lobuche is the most important link in the trek to the Everest Base Camp, so it offers teahouses and facilities to stay and recharge center.At this point, trekkers can take either Gorakshep, Kala Patthar, or Everest Base Camp.Lobuche can be found right at the foot of the Khumbu glacier; it has an amazing view of the nearby peaks like Lobuche East (6,119m) and Lobuche West (6,145m).It is positioned between Dughla (Thukla) and Gorakshep, thus making it a crucial resting and acclimatization point.Because of its high altitude and the absence of light pollution, Lobuche turns out to be a perfect pick for this activity where stargazing and astrophotography can be done.Lobuche is the last chance for the trekkers to recover their strength and to adapt to the high altitudes of Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.It is the right place to make a stopover, without being affected by altitude, before reaching Everest Base Camp or Kala Patthar.

The last village one will pass on the way to Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters / 17,598 ft) and the top of Kala Patthar (5,545 meters) is Gorak Shep. It is a small, high-altitude outpost that is equipped with basic facilities for trekkers and climbers who are going to further explore the Khumbu region. Regardless of the fact that the village does not have many facilities, it is still the best location and surroundings of the village that make it an unforgettable destination.The village is mostly comprised of a couple of teahouses and lodges that are situated around a desolate, sandy plateau.Notwithstanding its isolated spot, it becomes a very busy place during the trekking seasons!
Everest Base Camp (EBC) is a site situated at the foot of Mount Everest, which is the world’s highest peak with a height of 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet). Everest trek will get you so close to the peak that you can take stunning shots of the highest peak in the world.EBC(Everest base camp) is the place where you can enjoy the most popular trails with stunning views. The more you move the more you get to see the beauty of trekking in Nepal, the massive walls of stone all around the place, just the feeling of this is amazing and not even to mention the most springing laughing one can receive on the trail or the most tormenting hill everybody can face. Trust me the amazing view alone will be your main reason for trekking. Trek to the Everest Base Camp is a once in a lifetime journey that not only offers beautiful mountain views but also a great cultural experience. Everest Base Camp is an amazing life experience, a proof of a human spirit, and a small step closer to the "Roof of the World" – Mount Everest.
Upon arrival at EBC, there will be a downward journey back to Gorak Shep where our hotel is located.

We shall begin our journey early in the day to see Mount Everest from Kala Patthar- the trekking peak. Being at Kala Patthar is best for me, making it the most vantage point of Mount everest. From Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar, each hiking step presents a tough challenge such as the best panoramic view of Mount Everest and neighboring Himalayan peaks. At both the sunrise and sunset times, Kala Patthar displays a splendid panorama of the light, referring to the golden light glowing over Everest.
The route includes Kala Patthar (5,550 m / 18,209 ft) to Pheriche (4,240 m / 13,910 ft) which is normally the return leg on the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek.Kala Patthar (or Black Rock in English) is a well-known trekking peak located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is a great platform where you can overlook the entire Himalayan range and see Mt Everest close up, even though it is not one of the main peaks.Kala Patthar is Situated in the immediate neighbourhoods of Gorakshep which is the final stopping point on the EBC trek, Kala Patthar is only a few kilometers away from the Everest Base Camp.Just for the record, it is still located in Sagarmatha National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pheriche is a small yet very important village situated in the Khumbu region of Nepal, on the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek route. Trekkers and climbers use it as an intermediate period to get acclimatized to even higher fallout at times. Like any village around the Khumbu area, Pheriche has an indigenous Sherpa population to their credit, mainly for their endurance and the fact that they are, indeed, professional mountaineers.The settlement is a place to see the true Sherpa style of living, with only small single housing units, flags flapping in the wind, and a row of mani walls along the right. To top all this up, there is always a nearby monastery where you can learn all about Tibetan Buddhism and its background.
When we stay at the top for some time, we will descend to Pheriche and stay overnight at the hotel.

The way from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar is a famous part of the Everest Base Camp trekking route in Nepal. The trek could even extend over one whole day, while the duration might also differ according to the traveler's acclimatization, pace, and the weather conditions.
Namche Bazaar is an exuberant and crowded town situated in the Khumbu area of Nepal. The trek is finished when one arrives back to Lukla after the Namche stay.The On the last day of walking we will be Enjoying in the green forests and scenic villages.
Lukla is a small town situated in the Solu-Khumbu region of Nepal being the starting and ending point of the trekkers and climbers coming to Mount Everest and the other Himalayan peaks. In fact, it ranks so high as the airport has become one of the most challenging airports, that is the Ten-Zing-Hillary Airport. It also is an important point for the logistics of tourism and mountaineering in the Everest region.Lukla is, in fact, given a very distinct verve by the people of Sherpa whose help is vital to trekking and mountaineering teams.Lukla has a number of Buddhist stupas and prayer wheels, all of which give a clear indication of the local culture and religion.Lukla is surrounded by green hills which give you a feeling of the Himalayan peaks loom over the town. In addition, the place is bestowed with scenic beauty due to its excellent location near the green hills, stone houses, terraced fields, and prayer flags.Lukla boasts of a variety of lodge, homestays, and eateries that cater to trekkers.

Connection between Lukla to Kathmandu and the beginning of the adventure on Everest is the most important thing. The arrival of joy does not come unless the excitement increases with the knowledge that the finished work is over. The observation of the Himalayas, the thrill of the takeoff of the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, and the fact that the weather is often unpredictable are the three reasons that make this time outstandingly remarkable. Relish the top satisfaction of the hike throughout the journey as we move away from the mountains and come back to Kathmandu with the journey in mind.

1.Physical Preparation: Walking acclimatization and height itself make the trek very challenging. Do workouts, go for hikes, and build your stamina through endurance training before you go.

2.Altitude Acclimatization: The hike goes beyond an altitude of 5,000 meters and proper acclimatization becomes the first priority of the trek. Be obedient to your guide's suggestions and make sure you get rest days that are enough if required.

3.Packing: Compact but include what is really needed—hot clothing, trekking shoes, a quality sleeping bag, and a pair of trekking poles. A down jacket together with waterproof equipment would be a great idea as well.

4.Travel Insurance: Make sure you have a complete travel insurance, which will cover emergency evacuation in case of insomnia or injury, as well as other activities.

5.Weather: The temperature in the Everest area is not stable, and especially in high altitudes, you should be prepared for cold weather and snowfall.
