Tour Plan
After you are down at Bhadrapur (91m), a tropical and muggy town of Terai, you will find your trekking team and guide ready to accompany you.Subsequently, you will leave there and start a long but beautiful drive (7-9 hours) from Bhadrapur to Taplejung, the point of the trek. You drive towards the mountains on the narrow road that winds along the range, through the plantations of tea, the hills covered with fresh grass, the rivers flowing rapidly, and the distant-human-abandoned villages.
You will go through Ilam, the popular tea garden of Nepal, where you can see the perfect picture of green tea in the hills. As the altitude increases, the temperature decreases, and you will be able to feel that the mountain air begins to be fresh.
Taplejung is the ultimate small village and the final human habitation before moving to a remote trekking area. After your arrival, you will be able to rest at your guest house or lodge and to enjoy a meal and sleep after the day of traveling.
The day after, your walk begins as you walk through Mitlung (921m).
Morning: Trek Starts from Taplejung (1,820m) After breakfast, you set off from Taplejung, walking on a way down.Extensive rhododendron and bamboo forests are crossed by the path. You will go by those villages which are very close to nature and see the local tribesmen, known for their hospitality and definitely different culture.
Midday: Going Downhill through Agricultural Landscapes The path follows the course of the Tamor River which is one of the main water sources of the Kanchenjunga glaciers. On your way, you are going to cross a number of terraced fields of rice, millet, and cardamom plantations, besides being the major economic crops, which you can find in this region. During the trek, you will come across several suspension bridges over small streams and rivers, thus making your journey even more exciting.
Afternoon: Reach in Mitlung (921m) After hiking for about 4-5 hours, you find yourself in Mitlung, a small remote village.Mitlung can be found on the banks of the Tamor River and acts as a night stop village for trekkers.Your hike will be concluded with a check-in process at a local teahouse, and you can have dinner there, and then retire for the day.
Today’s trek is easy. Take the opportunity to observe the beauty along the trail and talk to local people. Tomorrow you will go to Chirwa (1,270m), and this will involve climbing.
The road takes you through lovey-dovey themes, full of love and interesting things. The river indeed greets the Ghunsha Koala in a narrow valley. Later in the afternoon, the trek will pass through a lovely forest and village. Down the road, the river bursts into the neighbouring river, bringing more flow.
After crossing many suspension bridges, besides the great excitement of the journey, the next day will be eventful. At last, a short halt will be organized in a small teahouse to taste traditional Dal Bhat or noodle soup.
If you have a simple teahouse, then you can check in and rest in the place and enjoy its quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The sections of the route close to the river can be slick — so take it easy, use trekking sticks and take extra caution. The trip for tomorrow will be to Amjilosa at 2,510 meters of altitude which is quite a climb.
The track begins by bringing us to a suspension bridge over the Ghunsa Khola River, then we climb steeply. With frequent peeps of distant snow-capped peaks, the trail is covered by dense rhododendron, pine, and bamboo forests. You see the trail as very slim as it coils around cliff edges, and the situation becomes relatively tight, and, therefore, you have to proceed with caution. We continue to go along the path that is extremely steep in the sub-sections, passing by sliver, the areas that local people have carved stone steps. We can see waterfalls falling off the cliffs and in the forests we may be able to distinguish that Himalayan langurs or exotic birds inhabit the habitats.
Best to take a break and have lunch at a place where all the trees have been cleared out and rest before carrying the final leg that is a sharp climb to Amjilosa. The final stretch of the trek comprises some parts of a long climb up and short down before finally reaching Amilosa.
Amjilosa is a small town with a Tibetan influence, consisting of a few teahouses offering basic accommodations. After arrival, there is an option to enjoy the tea with yak butter and sit for a few moments and take in the breathtaking views.
Since today's climb is difficult, do not rush yourself, take some breaks, and drink water. Tomorrow you will walk to Yabla (2,730m), and on the way, you will pass through highland forests and river valleys.
Following your morning meal, you head for a soft upwards climb through the bamboo woods.Parallel to the Ghunsa River, the trail offers you several delightful views of the river. You will be moving across several small wooden bridges over streamlets that are feeding the river.Reverse, the path becomes rather steeper with only a few short flat stretches for having a break. With the continuation of your ascend, it is the end of subtropical vegetation and the start of pine and rhododendron trees.
Quite possibly, you encountered yaks grazing on the hilly slopes. In case of your good luck, you can see Himalayan wildlife like red pandas, pheasants, and mountain goats.Apart from eating your lunch at a great lookout, you can also view the various valleys from the place.
The final part requires a small section but a very steep ascent to Gyabla which is actually a small Tibetan village. Many thick trees from the surrounding hills and the forest make Gyabla seem a solitary and quiet place. The place is only made of a few teahouses, where you will be staying for the night.
Once you are done with that, go out and explore the place, talk to the Tibetan-descendant locals, and enjoy the food (careful, you may get addicted!).
After having a meal, you go further up the Ghunsa River by a gradual trail. The bamboo is replaced by tall rhododendrons, junipers, and pine trees as the forest starts thinning. You will continue to climb steep, rocky parts and cross rickety bridges as the valley narrows. The latter part of the trail takes you to a small Tibetan refugee village called Phale (also spelled Pholey).
You may also come across some prayer flags, mani walls, and small chortens (Buddhist shrines) on your way to the village. The place is well-known for local handicrafts so you can buy there hand-knotted wool carpets, or other types of mementos.Make time for a midday meal and a short break before you proceed to Ghunsa.
Once you leave Phale, the trek is more moderate and it follows the Ghunsa River, which is surrounded by open fields and pine forests. The sights of stone houses, monasteries, and tea houses, which start appearing, are a good indicator of a close Ghunsa Village.
The community of Ghunsa is the biggest one in this region and the population is mainly Tibetan Buddhists. You will be going to a teahouse that provides you with better conditions such as a WiFi connection, bakeries, and a small health facility.
Since you are now at an elevation of 3500m, take the time to go higher slowly to prevent altitude sickness. Tomorrow is the day that has been set for adjusting to the climate, so have a good rest and feel the pleasant surroundings in Ghunsa.
Once you have finished breakfast, you will take a light backpack and in the process, the body will adjust to the height of over 4,000m while hiking. The path goes to a ridge from where one can watch the entire area around Ghunsa in a panoramic view leaving high spirits. If the weather is clear, it is possible to get a closer look at Jaanu Peak (7,710m), or to call it a different name Kumbhakarna, the most beautiful mountain in the region. Having reached a higher altitude, you will embark on the journey downhill to Ghunsa where you will find food waiting.
The Monastery Visit: The monastery of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition in Ghunsa is here where you will witness the praying flags, mani walls, and the chanting of the monks.
Get in touch with the Local People: The natives are Tibetan Buddhists, you can know about their way of life, tradition, and culture. Rest & Rehydrate: To go through the acclimatization you need to drink much water, eat properly, and stay away from alcohol.
Equipment Check & Supplies: This is the last major village before heading into the remote high-altitude terrain. You can buy basic supplies at local shops.
One has to take breaks and acclimatize before high altitude trekking. It is advisable to go down the mountain, drink plenty of water, and watch the scenery of Ghunsa. The next day, the destination is Kambachen (4,050m), which is even more challenging terrain.
A delicious breakfast is followed by a walk out of Ghunsa to the start of the easy climb to the Ghunsa Khola (river). The thick pine forests are replaced by bare rocks, as the altitude gradually increases. The trail traipses across the glacial moraines, and you will note signs of avalanches occurring in the past—the scene just looks rugged and untouched. The sky gets more and more conquered by snow-capped peaks and the summit of Jannu (7,710m) is now very clear; this is the most charming, striking mountain you will find in the Himalayas.
As the path goes on, you will come across places where landslides often happen, so you cannot but be very aware of things, and be quick on your feet. The valley is getting wider, and the view of snow mountains shows itself as panoramic.A stop for lunch can be arranged near a yak pasture, and the guests can take a deep breath of the fresh mountain air.
The air is getting rarefied and colder which tells you that you are now in the real high-altitude domain. The last part of the road is steep and short and it is a quick rise to the small and desolate Kambachen settlement.Kambachen is a village tucked away in the mountains where the locals have herds of yaks, and there are only a few stone tea houses surrounded by towering peaks.
This village lies at the foot of the Jannu (Kumbhakarna) Peak so the magnificence of the northern face of the peak is full of impact. You will probably go to a simple teahouse, have a good meal, and sleep comfortably.
It is necessary to report that the danger of altitude sickness starts to be significant if you go beyond 4,000m of altitude. Thus, go slowly, evenly, and strive for drinks and rest because the body gets dehydrated quickly at an elevation of above 4,000 meters. Tonight you can have a rest in Kambachen, because we will move to a higher place only the next day.
It starts with a gentle river climb, the trail becoming more and more rocky and deserted. You will have to be very careful while trekking since you will walk through a place where a landslide is likely to occur. The route goes through the Kanchenjunga Glacier and so it will give you the opportunity to experience the extraordinary panorama from those places of the world where snow and ice are found to great extent and the huge peaks touch the sky.
During the time spent on climbing, you breathe less oxygen which results in the trek getting more strenuous. The way includes various stony spots and small stream crossings which are formed by the melting glaciers. Your meal will be near Ramtang, a once tiny abandoned village, which, with its old stone houses, remains to testify to the past.
From this point on, nature turns into alpine without trees, nothing but rocks, snow, and high mountains. After hiking along a long and rocky ridge, a very lonely and high-altitude camping ground, Lhonak, will show up in front of you out of reach of all things down there.Lhonak is a very deserted, blowing and freezing area with only a few basic teahouses available. The region offers the most beautiful views of Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mera Peak (6,344m), and Wedge Peak (6,750m).You'll refresh up in the teahouse, take in the fluids and relax for the last big climb to Kanchenjunga Base Camp the next day.
Surely you have to check yourself at the altitude of 5,000m, hence keep yourself warm, drink a lot of water and walk slowly. By the next day, the route of your trek starts from Kanchenjunga North Base Camp at Pang Pema (5,143m).
After admiring the remarkable view, you should walk down to Lhonak (4,780m) for the night. It is important to get up early as the day ahead is not so short and is pretty tough due to the nature of the uphill journey. The way is initially up to the Kanchenjunga Glacier, and soon you will be able to enjoy dazzling views of Chang Himal, Kirat Chuli, and Pyramid Peak. The trail changes its characteristics considerably from this point on, it becomes rough and difficult to pass; thus, you should take care before you continue. As you go up, Kanchenjunga’s north face will appear in front of you to create a very memorable moment.
The starting point of the trek and at the same time the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp is Pang Pema. The place will offer you complete, awesome views of Kanchenjunga (8,586m) above the valley.Take time to capture the beauty of the place, snap some photos, and feel rewarded. After a while at Pang Pema, make your way back to Lhonak by descending gradually. On the way back, it's an easy walk as you descend slowly down along the same route. The oxygen has been slightly increasing, therefore, you will be more comfortable. When you reach Lhonak, you will refresh, eat a warm meal, and celebrate your achievement.
At this stage, the pace is very important, so you should walk slowly, drink enough water, and keep warm due to the extreme conditions there. The descent to lower altitudes will commence the next day.
Once you’ve finished your breakfast, you set off for the descent from Lhonak. The air is very fresh in the morning, and in no time, you will return to the high-altitude landscape that you passed through when you were going to Pangpema. The route lies along glacial moraines and over stony trails where you will come across ancient stone structures and wonderful views of the mountains.Shortly after you start heading downward, the oxygen in the air will be felt a lot more, hence the descent becomes much easier.
When coming down from Lhonak, you will be walking on and off sections of the Kanchenjunga Glacier again with the most exciting panorama of Jannu (7,710m) on your right and Kumbhakarna on your left. The transition of the landscape is clearly visible from the change of barren rocks to grasslands and then forest patches. You may come across more wildlife. E.g., yaks grazing and perhaps some high altitude birds or other animals. At a picturesque spot on the trail, stop for a lunch break, and also have a moment of quietness and peace that the remote space provides. You will reach Ghunsa in the afternoon, when the air is heavier and the surroundings seem visibly more pleasant.Ghunsa, being a place with a strong Tibetan culture, stone houses, and local monasteries, feels homely after such a tiring hike.
The village is well-equipped to cater to trekkers' needs, having comfortable teahouses where one can chill out, eat a warm meal, and get acquainted with other trekkers again.Stay here overnight so your body is going to relax after the long days of high-altitude trekking.
Even if this is a march down, a considerable distance can always be a drawback due to the fatigue. Be careful in every leg joint and especially on a rocky path. Get some rest whenever you feel it is necessary and at the same time, enjoy your way down through picturesque views. The next day you will further pursue your trek back, going down the mountains of cooler climate.
Start your day with a good breakfast and get ready for a gradual climb out of Ghunsa. At the outset, the path follows the Ghunsa Khola (river), which flows in a winding way through thick pine forests and passes herders' camps. You are climbing higher and higher, thus the forest changes to the marvellous alpine meadows, and you can also notice that the landscape is getting progressively barren and rocky.Since the altitude is getting higher, try to walk at a comfortable pace to prevent altitude sickness.
Direction up, the path becomes increasingly steeper, but the views provide even more satisfaction. You will have glimpses of the snow-capped peaks and the ridges below will still be covered with the sleeping giant's ice.
During lunch time, you will rest and you will also have time to enjoy the views, or even if you get lucky, you will be able to see yaks, or mountain goats grazing in the meadows. The path may have its challenges in some places as it may contain loose gravel and very steep sections, so extra caution is advised. You are going to get into Sele La Base Camp (4,290m) in the afternoon, a peaceful place with a wide view of the surrounding peaks. You are going to have a picturesque panoramic view of the jagged ridges and glaciers that will finally lead you to Chele La Pass, crossing which will be on the next day.
It goes without saying that the camp is traditional/primitive and usually, a teahouse is chosen instead of a tented camp, or the other way around, it depends on the season and the arrangements of the group.Take some time to relax, drink lots of water, and get your things ready for the challenging pass crossing to be done the next day.For the first paragraph we could say, “In the evening, warm yourself with a hot meal, the guides will give you quick and useful advice and information about the Sele La Pass crossing.”
Remember, after you start gaining altitude, it will be obligatory to drink lots of water, eat enough high-energy snacks, and stop to take a rest, in case you feel like it. Will you be well on your choice through Chele La Pass tomorrow? It is the titan of the journey, have a good night's rest and get ready with the gear by high altitude day.
Once you are done with the pass, you can start the descent to Tseram (3,870m), which is the village located in the valley that is steep and has mountains on each side. A decrease in elevation plus the fact that the walk is on a less unbearable downward route can be beneficial to you. But let's not forget that the path can get pretty steep as well. Be it wildlife or prayer flags waving at the pass, or even small stone chortens along the way, look for these things all the same.
First, in the morning in Tseram, having a good breakfast can be the beginning of a long day, which will include some immediate altitude gain up to the Olangchung Glacier base – Ramche. The path gets more and more rowdy as you climb higher, and the views become more alpine. You will see verdant woods in the low areas of the hike, whereas higher areas come closer to Ramche with the treeline going away. As the journey progresses, Jannu Peak (7,710m) is getting more attention, and it leaves trekkers with beautiful views. After several hours of walking, you will come across Ramche, a small space shared by trekkers before making their way to Oktang. It is famous for its great view of Kanchenjunga and the Olangchung Glacier. This is also the spot where you can take a small break to acclimatize yourself and relax before continuing to Oktang.
From Ramche, it will be a short but tiring hike that will lead to the point, Oktang, which is the official Kanchenjunga South Base Camp. This short trip will take 1-2 hours, the other prerequisite is a strenuous uphill trek but the breaks in between should help to get the pace. The first sight that will come to your eyes once you make it to Oktang (4,730m) will be the most dazzling view of the south face of the Kanchenjunga, the Kanchenjunga Glacier, and the surrounding jagged peaks of the region.
Oktang is a stunning viewpoint that provides the chance to see Kanchenjunga in all its glory. The visitor to the mountain will have plenty of time to look around, take photos and probably even see mountain goats or yaks grazing at the base of the glaciers. Following your stay in Oktang and visual embrace of the views of mountains, you will come back to Ramche where you will take a rest overnight. The road is easier on the way down than up. Nevertheless, be cautious of the rocky surroundings.
As soon as you are in Ramche, you can have a rest, eat delicious food and breathe deeply. This is the best moment to sit back, relax and have a thought about the wonderful journey of getting to Kanchenjunga’s South Base Camp.
In spite of the fact that you are descending from Oktang to Ramche after achieving the base camp, the air is still embryonic up there. Don’t forget to drink enough, eat well, and be unbowed while going downhill very slowly. In order to make the day unforgettable, take pleasure in the spectacular views of Kanchenjunga and Jannu.
The brick patterns on your luggage become clearer as you go down to Tseram following breakfast at Ramche. In the morning, the weather will be nice and cool, and you’ll be able to walk through alpine meadows and rocky trails, the paths that will be the same ones where you were coming from and that will afford you the same views.
Although the change in altitude over the last few days may allow the descent to feel like a piece of cake to a certain extent, being aware of the rocky segments is still important.Shortly after leaving the mountain, the majestic scenery of Jannu and Kanchenjunga will be visible for a while, but gradually, the remainings of the forest and lower elevations will cover that beautiful view.
By midday, you can pause for a break, eat your lunch, and marvel at the beauty of the continued descent. Moreover, maybe the best idea is to consider resting with nature, far from infrastructural facilities, which will provide you with a peaceful and recharged mind. Most probably, the route will cut through some local villages, and you may come across yaks leisurely eating in the meadow, as well as mountain wildlife in certain cases.
With denser woods and greener foliage, the path becomes more refreshing and brighter, full of picturesque dense jungles and valleys that lower altitudes restart life.Later in the day, you will come back to Tseram. The calm and previously visited village will feel good. The air will be heavier and the warmth will be on your body, which is a nice change from doing the high altitude trekking.Tseram is wonderful to relax and rest, because the Tibetan culture and peaceful surroundings make a location such a calm place to sleep at.
The village has only simple teahouse facilities, where a warm meal can be consumed in addition to recollecting what an amazing journey it has been thus far.As it is a downhill, please walk down slowly, because you should never rush down the track, especially on the rocky parts. Be very careful with your knees and take advantage of trekking poles to better balance. Have a swig of water every now and then and take in the magnificent views as you come down to lower levels slowly. You can continue your way by reaching out to the lower villages tomorrow.
Fuel yourself on a healthy breakfast in Tseram and hit the road downwards. The hike will first take you over a rough and rocky patch of the high altitude forest where you might see even more animals coming along and the herdsmen taking care of their animals. There is a lot of descent but the path is not very steep thus enabling the walker to go down effortlessly and gradually. The decrease in altitude will also induce warm weather while the presence of thick forests and greener valleys is hard to miss as you trek.
During the rest of the day, a collection of pine and fir trees as well as the banks of rivers will be your walking partners. The sonorous noise of the river, though an intermittent accompaniment when trekking, will keep you company while remaining acoustic to your trek. The path will usher you past waterfalls, rills, and bountiful vegetation, making you feel calm and peaceful with every step you take away from the high altitude region.A pleasant lunch stop is preferable to be arranged along with the view of the river or the surroundings.
By early afternoon, you will have descended to the village of Tortong located at a lower elevation in the middle of a narrow valley. The place is far-off from the hustle and bustle of the urban world, however, nature is at its best, so a small village like Tortang is the best place for the sojourner.local people there are kind enough to provide you with necessary services such as food, shelter, and a place to sit and relax while having a chat. In addition to this, Tortong is under a level of height allowing one to breathe properly and where the weather is warm and pleasant.
Chill out and relax, give yourself the moment to soak in the quiet and peaceful surroundings. The hills, forests, and riverbanks of the nearby area are perfect for different activities like hiking and enjoying the beauty of the environment.
As soon as you have had your delicious and nutritious breakfast in Tortong, you will start your journey downhill to Yamphudin, walking through plenty of forests and along the riverside trails. At that time, the air gradually feels warmer as you are descending in altitude with the weather and the nature that will start showing the change to more fertile farmland and subtropical plants.
Walking beside the Mewa Khola river will make you feel very peaceful and undisturbed while the song of the birds and the rustling of the leaves will add to the soothing experience. Today's trail being less steep will be beneficial to our legs as they have been worked out the day before.
Walking down will also let you walk through some small villages, where you will get to have the sight of terraced fields and local farmers working. In most cases, the local people who live there are Tamang and Sherpa, they would be likely busy with their daily chores like their crops, animals’ roles, and the land work. In addition to that, you will find a lot of indigenous children going to school or their parents carrying goods along the treacherous terrain. The scenery will gradually change from the alpine environment to the subtropical forest that has more trees and the vegetation which is typical of the lower altitudes.Visit one of the villages for lunch, and bask in the atmosphere around you.
On a bright day of trekking, you will come to Yamphudin, a remote village situated in a spectacular valley at a lower altitude. A small village that delivers the best when it comes to the views of the hills around, terraced farmland, and forests.Yamphudin is a very beautiful and traditional Tibetan village that is full of nice and hospitable people and a very scenic surrounding. Certainly, 2,080m is more like a psychological relief for the trekkers after the continuous rise, and the warmer weather is totally unlike the cold area of higher altitude. The village has just a few teahouses with facilities catering to the needs of the travelers by means of board and lodging. You can use your spare time to eat and be warm, to breathe in the aura of silence.
Although today's descent does not involve a great deal of effort, do be aware of slippery and uneven areas near rivers or wet paths, as the warm temperatures can make you feel thirsty more often than usual, also, enjoy the views along the rivers and fields.
After eating a hearty breakfast in Yamphudin, you will start your descent to Taplejung, following a trail that will lead you through forests, riverside paths, and farmlands.Part from the village and continue to walk on a gravel track, where you will pass indigenous settlements. Here you can find locals working in their fields, farming, or taking care of animals, as it is crop-harvesting time in this region. The path is flat and hence not dangerous, going through the most beautiful countryside.
Most likely, the weather will be warm and there will be more greenery around you as you are getting close to the lower altitudes. The path goes further along the Tamor River and rolling hills, crossing small villages such as Khamdong, or Olangchung (depending on the route), where you can meet people who live there and get a feeling of the whole rural daily scene. Local people are usually found working in their own rice fields, corn plantations, and other terraced agricultural lands. In addition, the sound of the rivers adds to the serenity and peace that will be felt throughout the day’s traveling by the locals.Plan to halt along the route for lunch, which is most likely inside a small teahouse or village where you can taste some traditional Nepali food and get some rest for the rest of the journey.
After a day, you'll have reached Taplejung, which is the largest town in the area as well as a bustling center of trade and culture.Located at a height of 1,820m, Taplejung offers a clear change of climate to you in a warmer temperature and a much denser forest cover. The town, compared to the rural villages you have passed, comes with a bit more comfort and definitely more convenience. If you come to Taplejung, please put the time aside to take a rest, get changed, and toast your triumph at the Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek. The town has low-cost hotels and lodges where you can take a break and ponder over your journey. Apart from this, you might be physically present in a local market, walk around the town, or perhaps even get to know those fellow hikers who have finished trekking.
Although the descent isn’t very difficult, it’s important to be careful on the trails, which are uneven and near the rivers, where it is slippery and wet as well. Put on comfortable shoes, and be sure to stay well-hydrated throughout the day as you’ll be walking a great deal of distance. Once you eventually hit the town, allow yourself to relax for some time and enjoy your accomplishment of trekking without drinking.
Once you are done with breakfast in Taplejung, you will start driving to Bhadrapur, a town near the Sunsari District of southeast Nepal. Normally, the journey is between 8 and 10 hours, weather conditions depending, but it's a very picturesque route that leads you through the fool hills, rural villages, and curved lanes. With the shift in the geographical area, the sky will gradually fill up with greenery all around as one descends the mountain. The visuals will be of the forested areas, farmlands, and little clusters of settlements, and you'll encounter rivers, bridges, and hills. There may be bumpy roads, so better come prepared with some snacks and water for the trip.
During the journey, the bus will probably make a few stopovers at small towns or road-side tea houses. That would be a good chance for you to walk a bit, use the toilets, and get a snack. You will be driving past places such as Ilam or Fikkal, both of which are famous for their scenic spots and tea gardens as well as multiple small Nepali villages. The region's colorful tea farms are very inviting to take a photo. Most likely, the driver will have some breaks in the assigned places to ensure comfort and safety in this incredibly long journey.
On the last day of your hike, the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek, you will leave the mountains and travel back to Kathmandu. This is a travel day that includes a long drive followed by a flight. It will be a day that is half beautiful scenery, half adventure, and whatever's left will be the last chance for you to be proud of the journey you've accomplished. You will most likely have your first stop after lunch to let you rest, recharge and get prepared for the last flight of the day. It’s only a short hop from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu, and the convenience of air travel together with the splendid aerial vista of the region will not fail to impress, especially the view of Terai plains, rivers, and the plains of Nepal from high up which you get on your own.In about three-quarters of an hour, you arrive at Kathmandu airport from Bhadrapur and the journey, if flown to the right, will provide you with views of the Terai plains, the rivers, and the forests of Nepal.
Your flight to Kathmandu will be scheduled for late afternoon or early evening. It is a trip that steadily progresses and displays the Himalayan range until it gradually fades from sight as the plane descends to the valley and lands at Kathmandu airport.
Once you are in Kathmandu, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Treat the following evening as a period to rest, refresh and have a good dinner while dining out in Kathmandu, reflecting back on the unforgettable journey to the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek thus rekindling past memories. On your arrival, you can have a walk in the neighborhood or just relax while the day ends after such a long travel day.
The drive can be a bit wearisome so think of taking a neck pillow or any comfort items with you. You don’t want to miss a photo opportunity for the photogenic hills on your way and you don’t want to get dehydrated, either. Let all the excitement of accomplishing such a fantastic journey be your energy when you are back in Kathmandu. Bravo, you have now come to the end of your adventure trip.
